Machines will replace us sooner or later, that is almost certain, but there is one thing that will be hard to replace. You see, machines are either great disembodied brains capable of processing millions of pieces of information per second or robots with remarkable mobility. There is a kind of specialization, and we haven’t yet found a machine that can recreate the cognitive benefits of having a physical body.
Your intestine collects billions of pieces of information unbeknownst to you, sent by different parts of your body. It then transmits them to the brain through what we call intuition.
Human beings are incarnate beings (that is, made of flesh in its etymological sense), the result of millions of years of evolution. Thus, their bodies are adapted to move in natural spaces. They are perfectly designed to live on earth, but the essence of this knowledge is buried in their unconscious since humans live predominantly in urban environments. Machines, on the contrary, are the fruit of very recent research, adapted to urban environments and virtual life on computer servers.
Since the machine is a product of an artificial environment, it is poorly adapted to evolve in a natural environment. It operates in an accounting manner. It cannot – yet – feel things. Certainly, computing feats are increasingly astonishing, but these evolutions have their limits, and it is likely that humans are able to capture subtle elements, which machines cannot yet do.
If it is wealth you are seeking, intuition alone will not suffice in this quest. However, if you are looking for a stable job that will not be disrupted by artificial intelligence, taking intuition into account is necessary.
Essentially, two elements will play in your favor: the need for human or environmental interactions as well as creativity. Technology demonstrates a certain level of creativity but is still clumsy in physically interacting with humans and the environment. Here is a list of examples of professions that will be more resilient in the face of the replacement wave caused by new technologies:
– Preserver of natural spaces
– Permaculture farmer
– Magnetizer
– Teacher and coach (developing student confidence)
– Martial arts instructor
– Music teacher
– Spiritual guide
Now, it’s also important to develop your intuition, otherwise my discourse will be of little use to you.
First approach: Intuition can be defined as the conclusion of an unconscious reasoning process. Your brain is always working. It captures scattered elements and tries to find sense and coherence in the apparent disharmony. It then provides you with an answer to a question without having presented you with the rational thread of its thought.
Second approach: Intuition could also be defined as the pure and simple expression of your gut (your second brain) after it collects a certain amount of information.
Whether we position ourselves according to the first or the second definition, it is necessary to provide a certain amount of “data” to your brain and gut, which would function like a sort of artificial intelligence whose algorithm we do not know. How to provide these data?
Data is the fruit of experience: the more you confront a situation, the more expertise you acquire. Your brain can capture data through reading, repetition of social situations, physical contact with nature, etc. Your second brain develops through interaction with the body. This is why physical exercise can be interesting to learn to develop your intuition.
